The Heinrich Böll Stiftung (HBS) is the German green foundation affiliated with the German Green Party (Alliance 90/The Greens = Bündnis 90/Die Grünen). The Heinrich Böll Stiftung has been funding projects in Israel since 1992, and the office in Tel Aviv opened in 1998. An internship at hbs allows one to experience the daily work of our foundation and to familiarize oneself with diverse social change organizations in Israel. Internship positions are usually available for a period of three months, four days a week. We offer internship opportunities for college and graduate students focusing on our project areas:
• Environmental Justice and Sustainable Development,
• Women’s Rights and Gender Democracy,
• Strengthening Civil Society and Democratic Participation,
• Foreign and Security Policy
• German-Israeli Relations
Interns are considered full members of the hbs team. They are encouraged to take an active part in the office as well as in events and other activities.
The intern’s tasks consist of administrative work and support of program and event coordination. In addition, interns have a possibility to assist in research and writing for website articles.
We encourage applicants who are politically and socially involved, creative, pro-active, and have a genuine interest in the values and mission of the Heinrich Böll Foundation as well as in Israel. Fluent English language skills are essential. We particularly invite applicants from diverse backgrounds.

Internship opportunities are available from April 2012 on. New applications will be accepted from October 2011.
Please email your application, including CV and introduction letter in English to info@il.boell.org. Please indicate your motivation, i.e. why you would like to intern at hbs Israel and the program areas you are most interested in.
In any given year, there are only a few places available. The application process is competitive and positions are filled quickly. We therefore recommend applicants to submit their applications early, at least 4-6 months prior to your desired start date.
Other materials such as references, letters of recommendation, transcripts etc. may be requested later on and do not need to be included in your application.
